September - October

by Andrew J Fenady
Presented as a 1940’s-style radio drama, this heartwarming play is the perfect holiday outing for the entire family!  A young girl writes a letter to the editor of the New York Sun. "Dear Editor, I am eight years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, it's so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?" Ed Mitchell, the editor, assigns Frank Church—a reporter on the verge of self destruction—the task of answering Virginia's question. Church's quest and reply have become one of the world's most quoted and beloved editorials.

Celebrating Theater in Southern Arizona since 1986

With book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, Little Women, the Broadway Musical, follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. Jo longs to publish a novel. Meg longs for a fiancé. Beth longs for a piano. Amy longs to be admired. This timeless tale has been given new life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious song, dance, and a few tears. It celebrates personal discovery and coming of age in a time of challenge and transformation.

BROADWAY'S LONGEST RUNNING COMIC THRILLER!
Cunningly clever and comically twisted, Deathtrap is a murder mystery masterpiece that is so wickedly good…it’s to die for! When a once successful Broadway playwright struggles to overcome a dry spell that’s resulted in a string of flops and a shortage of funds, anxiety ensues. His fortunes turn when one of his students shares a brilliant new script with blockbuster potential. Resolved to resurrect his collapsing career, the covetous playwright conceives of a treacherous trap to snare the script and take credit for its creation. Murderous machinations result, springing to a surprising conclusion that will leave audiences breathless.

In Crimes of the Heart, the Magrath sisters, Lenny, Meg, and Babe, are reunited at their family home in Hazlehurst Mississippi after Babe shoots her husband. Each one is facing down her own demons, past and present. Lenny cares for the grandfather who raised her as he dies, Meg grapples with dreams that didn’t come true, and Babe squares off against an abusive spouse. It’s a portrait of a dysfunctional family, but Beth Henley’s Pulitzer prize winning play finds laughter within tragedy.
